How to use it

  1. 1

    Drop a GIF

    Every frame arrives as a layer with its original delay in the Layers panel. Drop a JPEG or PNG and it becomes a new frame at the end.

    Reorder before you re-time

    Drag frames into the right order first. Reordering never changes a frame's duration, so the two edits never fight each other.

    Set the timing

    Set delay on all frames gives every frame one value; Double speed and Half speed (×2 longer) scale them all. Then lengthen only the frames that need to sit longer.

    Edit the whole Document

    Size… resizes the image or the canvas, Crop trims, Rotate 90° right and Flip horizontal turn every frame at once. Background puts a color under transparent pixels.

    Press Export

    Pick Animated GIF, Sprite sheet or PNG sequence, then Colors, Dither and Lossy, or a platform under Fit under. Press Encode and check the wipe before you download.

About this tool

Drop an animated GIF and every frame becomes a layer with the delay it had in the file. Add photos or text, delete and reorder frames, set the timing, crop, rotate or flip the whole animation. Export runs through the same engine as the GIF Compressor.

Frequently asked questions

Is it free?

Yes. Every feature and every export is free, with no account and no watermark. An account is optional and only keeps your projects so you can reopen them on another device.

Are my files uploaded?

No. Everything runs in your browser and your files stay on your device. The only thing that leaves it is a project you choose to save to your account.

Can I change how long one frame stays on screen?

Yes. Type a delay under any frame in the frame strip, or drag its edge in the timeline. Both are the same edit.

Can I add my own photos to an existing GIF?

Yes. Drop in JPEGs or PNGs and they arrive as new frames at the end, ready to be reordered or re-timed.

Why does my transparent GIF have a fringe?

GIF has one bit of alpha, so a soft edge becomes solid or nothing. Put a color under it with Background, or raise Edge cut in the export.
