About this page

ProDesigner is proprietary software, but it is built on the work of others. This page lists the third-party open-source components the tools incorporate, the license each is used under, and the copyright notices those licenses require us to reproduce.

These components are not claimed as our property. Our proprietary claim, described in section 8 of our Terms & Conditions, covers ProDesigner's own original code, interface design, visual identity and branding, and the particular combination and configuration of components.

If you believe something is missing or wrongly attributed here, tell us at support@prodesigner.app and we will correct it.

FFmpeg (WebAssembly build) — LGPL-2.1-or-later

Component: @ffmpeg/core version 0.12.6. Used by the Dither & Halftone tool to decode imported animations. Loaded as a separate WebAssembly module at the point of use; it is not statically linked into our code.

FFmpeg is free software licensed under the GNU Lesser General Public License version 2.1 or later. It is copyright the FFmpeg developers and contributors. Written offer of source: we will provide, on request to support@prodesigner.app, a complete machine-readable copy of the version of this library used by ProDesigner, together with any modifications. We have made no modifications to it.

Because the library is delivered as a discrete WebAssembly artefact and invoked through its published interface, it may be replaced by a user with a modified version of their own, as section 6 of the LGPL contemplates.

libheif (WebAssembly build) — LGPL-3.0-or-later

Component: libheif-js version 1.19.8, an Emscripten build of libheif 1.19 by Struktur AG, bundled with the libde265 HEVC decoder. Used by the Dither & Halftone tool to open HEIC and HEIF photos in browsers that cannot decode them natively — which is every browser except Safari.

It is served as a standalone WebAssembly module at /app/heic/ and fetched at the point of use, unmodified and unminified. It is not statically linked into our code, and it is not incorporated into any tool bundle. This is the same arrangement described above for FFmpeg.

libheif is free software licensed under the GNU Lesser General Public License version 3 or later, copyright Dirk Farin and the libheif contributors. libde265 is licensed under the GNU Lesser General Public License version 3 or later, copyright Struktur AG. The full license text is published at https://www.gnu.org/licenses/lgpl-3.0.html and the sources are available at https://github.com/strukturag/libheif and https://github.com/strukturag/libde265 . You may replace our copy of the library with your own build; the module is a separate file served from /app/heic/libheif.js and /app/heic/libheif.wasm.

pdf.js — Apache-2.0

Component: pdfjs-dist version 3.11.174. Used by the Image & Vector Viewer to render PDF files and Adobe Illustrator files from version 9 onward, which are PDF documents underneath. Loaded from our own servers at the point a file of that kind is opened; it is not statically linked into our code.

pdf.js is copyright Mozilla Foundation and contributors and is licensed under the Apache License, Version 2.0. The full license text is published at https://www.apache.org/licenses/LICENSE-2.0 and is also served alongside the library itself. We distribute it unmodified.

JSZip — MIT (elected)

Component: JSZip version 3.10.1, copyright Stuart Knightley and contributors. Used by the Dither & Halftone tool to package multi-file exports.

JSZip is offered by its authors under a choice of the MIT license or the GNU General Public License version 3. We elect the MIT license. Its terms are reproduced under “MIT license text” below.

Inter, copyright The Inter Project Authors. Noto Sans and its script-specific families — Arabic, Hebrew, Japanese, Korean, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Thai and Devanagari — copyright The Noto Project Authors.

Both are used under the SIL Open Font License version 1.1, whose text is published at https://openfontlicense.org. The license permits use, study, modification and redistribution, including bundling with software, provided the fonts are not sold on their own and any modified version is not distributed under the reserved font names.

Icons — CC0 and nominative use

Simple Icons, released under the Creative Commons CC0 1.0 Universal public domain dedication. Provides most of the glyphs in our share row.

The brand names and logos of the share destinations — WhatsApp, X, Facebook, LinkedIn, Telegram, Reddit, Pinterest, LINE, Weibo and VK — are the trademarks of their respective owners. They appear here nominatively, to identify where a share link goes. No affiliation, sponsorship or endorsement is claimed or implied.

Build-time tools

The following are used to build the site but form no part of what is delivered to your browser, and are listed only for completeness: sharp (Apache-2.0, copyright Lovell Fuller and contributors) and terser (BSD-2-Clause, copyright Mihai Bazon and contributors).
